No school on Friday.. so we took.. as Reagan stated "a field trip" to a great place about 90 min southwest of us called Fossil Rim Wildlife Preserves. You stay in the car, unroll the windows, and have a bag of feed for the animals.
We brought some friends along for the ride!!!

The Emu were very nice!!!
All sorts of wildlife..that know where the food is and just come right up and stick their heads in the car!
Our favorite part is seeing the Giraffe... even cooler with the sunroof.. she stuck her head right in for everyone to feed and pet her.. crazy long tongue and equally long slobber!
There is a great look out point about half way and a nice little hike..the girls
the boys
Back to more animals.. the Emu.. our friend..

and we did find a friendlier ostrich

We finished the grand tour in old town at the Pie Peddlers.. enjoying yummy homemade pie!!!

Food, fun, and wild animals.. who could ask for more!!!

We went up to Arbuckle Wilderness once in Oklahoma (same concept) and the zebra sneezed in Jon's hand while he was feeding it. Yes, it was as gross as you can possibly imagine and we were all done feeding the animals after that.
I'm so glad you blogged about this place, because we have never heard of it!
We ended up going last Saturday and it was SO much fun! Thanks for the great tip!
