Random things in our house..

I wanted Reagan to cuddle up with me yesterday..she wanted nothing to do with it.. so she looked at me and said with her most serious expression, well I can't mom.. see your bones.. well your bones and your heart poke into me when you are loving me and it makes me feel awkward. That kid says the funniest things..

The kids complained and complained the other day because they wanted to watch Toy Story.. which we only have on VHS.. what is that you say.. well long before DVDs.. they had these crazy tapes.. and amazingly we still have a VHS player.. which goes unused except for family home videos.. anyway.. they all complained that they put the video in and had to WAIT.. for it to rewind.. I mean WAIT.. for real.. a few min perhaps? Come on.. are we really instant gratification people.. guess so.

We took the kids to my latest obsession.. Sushi Envy.. a fun conveyor belt type of restaurant. The sushi chefs make the sushi of various types then put them on colored plate..put the plate on a conveyor belt that wraps around the restaurant.. each color represents a $$ amount.. you take what you want.. eat it.. then you add up your plates and pay your bill.. Clay and I LOVE it.. and go often, and decided to take the kids to experience it. They were blown away at the thought of not having to order but just taking the food you wanted. So on the belt they have plastic versions of some of the sushi.. one being a salmon roe.. or salmon eggs.. the sign with it said.. sample.. please order. The kids kept asking what it was and we explained it was fish eggs.. then Broderick reached over to grab one of the eggs.. (plastic mind you) and we were like.. hey stop.. what are you doing? Thinking he is messing around with the plastic sushi.. to which he replies.. it says Sample... I was just going to try one.. sample.. we started laughing.. maybe sample wasn't the right word.. its an Example of what you can order.. not something for you to sample!
